I remember after the Westgate and Garissa attacks I realized that humans were more scarier that any animal in the world. It was when I started knowing what Fear meant, the fear of other human beings. It is also when i realized that you never know what the person sitting next to you is capable of.
FEAR a new understanding and appreciation of the world. Nothing that had ever made me scared compared to the how i begun viewing humans. Usually you fear the unknown, what you don’t and can’t understand. It’s that misunderstanding or difference in a situation or change. I don’t even know how to explain it. The things I fear are the things I can’t get a grasp on, what I can’t wrap my mind around. But eventually to rid myself of that unknown I make it known.
But then there is this senseless killings that make people fear things they used to enjoy. Going to a movie, enjoying what’s on the screen instead of having your eyes fixed on the exit door, going to a mall and entering a shop without the thought of ‘what is the quickest and safest way out of here’ or ‘ I shouldn’t stay here to long’ now even walking out the streets involves more thought than just, is it going to rain or is this skirt too short, will people like what I’m wearing.
I hate that the innocence is gone and that we can’t afford to be naive. That being jack Bauer instead of being Curious George could determine whether you get to go home to see your family.
We are all family, my naive mind would like to think. It doesn’t matter how far we are from each other geographically, in our hearts and with the power of the internet,we are closer. We feel your pain, an in our prayers our arms are wrapped around you, asking God for your safety, praying that He will comfort you and give you peace as you fight to come out from the other side of this victorious. Do not let evil weaken your hearts. Darkness will always pass.
We cry with Paris,
We Cry with Lebanon
But we also believe that with the strength and love you have for each other you will be victorious. Don’t be plagued and weighed down bu questions you can’t answer. Just believe that He has a plan for us all.
We Pray for Paris.
We Pray for Lebanon.
“Fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. That is near insanity. Do not misunderstand me danger is very real but fear is a choice.”
